    Gemstones and crystals have been used by humans for thousands of years for the purpose of spiritual and physical healing.  Having gemstones as a talisman or amulet was a common practice throughout recorded history.  The wearing of different colors of gemstones and crystals that correspond to the chakra energy centers of the body is a belief that originated in ancient India and is still practiced by many people throughout the world today.  There are many literature resources available that explain why gemstones heal and how gemstones were used in ancient times for healing and balancing the body's energy centers.
